About your host for the weekend: Jill Kantor
Jill’s Hygge journey started long before she had ever learned of it.
Meet Jill Kantor: a busy mom, dedicated business professional, creative entrepreneur, passionate wellness facilitator, and ardent hygge enthusiast whose journey began long before she recognized its name. Fond childhood memories of cherished family moments unknowingly embraced the essence of hygge, a concept that would later define her path. In 2011, a profound loss shifted Jill's perspective, unveiling hygge's true power in fostering connections with oneself, others, and the world. This awakening led to the establishment of Hygge Canada in 2017, where transformative events and retreats are hosted, followed by the creation of Hygge in a Box in 2019. Both platforms are dedicated to sharing the art of savoring simple joys.
Jill's experience extends beyond hygge, encompassing the culinary realm. As a Traditional Wisdom Modern Kitchen Teacher, she began conducting workshops on traditional food preparation in 2014, championing practices such as vegetable fermentation, kombucha brewing, and bone broth soups. Founding The Urban Homestead in Winnipeg, she cultivated an urban oasis while advancing her wellness pursuits.
In addition to her dedication to hygge, Jill is a Wellness Works Canada Practitioner, thriving in spreading wellness within the corporate sector.
Jill's passion for sharing has fueled hygge-inspired retreats, wellness workshops, and the global distribution of thousands of hygge boxes. Her ongoing journey of discovery extends an open invitation to all seekers of meaning through life's elegant simplicity.
